Quanto ao tão "chorado" Chávez, outro ditadorzeco da América Latina, agora falecido, para bem dos venezuelanos e do Mundo (não esquecer a sua estranha amizade com os terroristas do Irão), nada como ler o relatório dos Human Rights Watch onde podemos perceber que sob o falso "diáfano" manto de liberdade afinal o ditador venezuelano escondia  assaltos à “independência dos tribunais”, à “liberdade de imprensa” e onde eram exercidos abusos governamentais sobre pessoas concretas e instituições concretas de oposicionistas ou simples defensores dos direitos humanos.  Calou-se, de vez, e o Mundo ficou mais limpo.

Más de tres mil homicidios se han registrado en Caracas

Durante los primeros 10 meses del año en en el municipio Libertador ocurrieron 2.580 homicidios.

“With the exception of Ivory Coast, the murder rate in any other African countries is lower than that in Venezuela,” Venezuelan researcher Luis Bravo told El Universal. “Neighboring Colombia was the most violent country in Latin America until in the early 2000′s. Then the figures dropped and now we (Venezuela) are far ahead, not only of Colombia, but also of Chile (3.7 homicides per 100,000 inhabitants) and even Haiti (6.9).”

Venezuela is considered to be one of the most deadly countries in the western hemisphere, with 19,336 homicides occurring last year, according to the Venezuelan Violence Observatory. That comes out to be on average 53 murder per day – giving the country a murder rate of about 67 per 100,000 inhabitants.

While not as bad as Honduras’ 88 murders per 100,000, it makes the drug war plagued Mexico look almost tame with its 15 per 100,000 rate.

An intensifying nationwide crime wave over the past decade has pushed the kidnapping rate in Venezuela past Colombia’s and Mexico’s, with about 2 abductions per 100,000 inhabitants, according to the Interior Ministry.

But nowhere in Venezuela comes close in abductions to Barinas, with 7.2 kidnappings per 100,000 inhabitants, as armed gangs thrive off the disarray here while Mr. Chávez’s family tightens its grip on the state. Seizures of cattle ranches and crumbling infrastructure also contribute to the sense of low-intensity chaos.

Barinas offers a unique microcosm of Mr. Chávez’s rule.
